Regretting that he cannot lunch with her that day as he is in Berlin. Playfully referring to her husband as Monsieur Dot, and suggesting that they come to Berlin. Discussing a recent production of a Tolstoy play, noting "it is the best thing I have ever seen." Signed "W. S. Maugham."
